QUIZ – WEDNESDAY’S RESULTS AND NEW QUIZ ANNOUNCEMENT

On Wednesday evening (1st April) we had 15 quizzers tackling 20 tough multiple choice (or in most cases multiple guess) questions set by Monday’s champion, David Woodhead.

The results were:
3rd – Jenny and Doug 🥉
2nd – Phil and Julie 🥈
1st – Steve and Karen 🥇

The next chance to go into the weekend holding the Eastbury Quizzer bragging rights will be this Friday from 6:30pm with a 30 question mega-quiz.

Watch out for the event notification on this group and go to our contact page (Selecting Virtual Happy Hour) to request a quiz access code as soon as possible. You will then be emailed the code shortly before the quiz opens.

VIRTUAL HAPPY HOUR – THIS FRIDAY (3/4)

We will be opening the Virtual Village Hall at 7pm on Friday. All are welcome to come along and talk with friends and neighbours.

Usual lockdown subjects will no doubt be discussed (fitness and shopping options, favourite box sets etc) as well as congratulating/ridiculing those that entered the quiz.

2020 Community Calendar Proceeds

The Village Hall is delighted to have received a donation of £268 as our share of the proceeds from the 2020 Eastbury Community Calendar.

Many thanks to all those involved and especially the photographers that entered the competition and contributed to a beautiful end product.

We look forward to taking part in the next community fund raising effort.

Gigaclear – Ultrafast Broadband Q&A – Thursday 9/1, 18:30 – 20:00

Gigaclear provides the only Ultrafast broadband service that Eastbury residents are able to connect up to.

The service offers significantly faster (up to 500x) download AND upload speeds than are possible with the old style broadband that uses our copper (BT/Openreach) telephone lines.

FTTP

To put this into perspective, these are considerably higher speeds than many people living in our neighbouring towns are able to get from their more well known, usually “part-fibre” broadband, service providers.

This event is a great opportunity for residents that haven’t taken up the Gigaclear service to learn more about the benefits of full-fibre broadband.

Equally, for those that are already subscribers, the event presents a chance to discuss how to get the most out of the service.
