Duck Race

Treasure Hunt winner

Many thanks to those of you that came along and enjoyed a true English “summer” afternoon strolling around the village.

Example mapEveryone had fun and the judges were impressed by the observational skills, knowledge and creativity of all of the contestants.

With only one point separating the winning team from 2 teams in equal second place, David Woodhead and his team were the eventual winners of the customised map.

A very special thank you to Sarah Blundell who once again generously provided exquisite cakes, and to Tracy McGarva who compiled the clues and the quiz.

Wine tasting at the Village Hall

Eastbury’s wine tastingown Flowitt Hill Wines  (www.flowitthillwines.com) are hosting their first wine tasting event at the Village Hall on 8th July. Come along to learn about, and of course taste, examples imported directly from a selection of small French and New Zealand producers that Giles and Naomi are working with.

The focus of the first event will be wines from the famous Marlborough region on the South Island of New Zealand. Examples will be selected from a fantastic range of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc wines. Also, by way of a teaser for a future event, there will be a couple of examples to taste from France (Languedoc and Provence regions).

With summer upon us (allegedly!), any budding sommeliers that come along to the event will be able to benefit from a 5% discount on orders placed for your BBQ wines!

The event starts at 7pm sharp on 8th July, with tickets costing £5 on the door.

Cheers!
