We are delighted to announce that our 2019 calendar is now on sale!
This large, full colour, calendar features 13 of the beautiful images of Eastbury and the Lambourn Valley that villagers entered into our Photographer of the Year competition. The entries were judged by our friends at Lambourn Camera Club, with the winning photographs selected for publication in the calendar.
If you would like to order your copy (whilst stocks last!) then please let us know via the Contact Page. Alternatively you can buy one at any of our forthcoming Village Hall events (including today’s Christmas Fayre!) or the next Coffee Pot Café at St James the Greater in Eastbury on 18th December. Also, with thanks to Louise and Graham at the Eastbury Plough, you can see a sample copy of the calendar and make your orders there.
Prices are: £8 each, 2 for £15 or 3 for £20
We would like to thank everyone that entered the competition and look forward to seeing even more entries next year for our 2020 calendar. Thank you too to Mark at MLL Print and Digital for all of his help in producing the calendar.

Tickets are now on sale for the Trafalgar night celebration on Saturday 3rd November.
Following the huge success of last year’s Eastbury “Burn’s Night” dinner, it has been decided to reprise the event in another form. The Village Hall Committee warmly invites locals to a Trafalgar Night Dinner so that Eastbury can celebrate the “Nelson Touch” on 3rd November at the Eastbury Village Hall. This will be a “posh do” so Black Tie is encouraged. We think smart is good for toasting the “Immortal Memory”, but dress rules will not be strictly enforced. Appropriate Service uniform will also be welcomed (!)
Tickets for the event will cover a 4 course dinner, including port. Wine will be available for purchase. After the meal there will be two speeches. Steve (Anchor Face) Pearce will say a few short words covering the “Nelson Touch” and propose the appropriate toast. Liz Goodman will be responding with a balancing address titled “The French Maid’s Tale”.
Towards the end of the formalities, for those who wish to participate and lower themselves into nationalistic jingoism, we hope to be led by “experts” in the singing of some sea shanties.
Correct “Mess Rules” will apply, but easing into convivial informality.
Please contact the committee if you would like to join us for what promises to be a memorable evening!
If you would like to learn how to create a beautiful Christmas wreath look no further. Sarah will give you the skills and confidence to make your own wreaths to decorate your front door for Christmas. The course is two hours long, you will learn all the skills you need and work with lots of different materials.
The price for the evening is £60 which includes all flowers, which you will take home with you, materials and a glass of something.
Sarah’s other courses are filling up fast with some already sold out, so hurry before all the places go!
We need a minimum of 10 people to attend with a maximum of around 15. So in order that Sarah can plan and to ensure that the Hall can cover our costs, we would ask anyone wishing to attend to make a firm commitment and payment as soon as possible. Please contact the committee to secure your place.
A couple of years ago we held a ‘Burns Night’ in the Village Hall and it was a great success. The committee has decided that we should organise a similar night but with a different theme, hence we will be holding a Trafalgar Night on Saturday November 3rd from 7.30pm.
Like the ‘Burns Night’ the intention is to get as many Eastbury Villagers together for another fabulous night. So if you like great food, humorous speeches / toasts, patriotic music, great company and of course the odd glass or six of your favourite tipple then this night is for you.
If you’re new to the Village this is a great way of meeting people. As with the ‘Burns Night’ we need people to help with organising the night, preparing the food and creating the speeches. Please contact the committee if you would like to attend and also if you can help out in anyway.
